She was born into a family of multigenerational South Florida masons. Her dad is a master craftsman, and her mom, the first licensed masonry contractor in South Florida. Karen laid her first bricks at the ripe old age of seven in the intricate herringbone pattern; it was the fanciest playhouse in the neighborhood. Later, she worked alongside her parents, learning how to mix mud and build structures that last generations. Karen learned the hard lessons of day-to-day business operations and the opportunities and challenges of the construction industry. She experienced over-regulation and the frustration of massive permitting delays. These and other learned experiences developed Karen’s desire to correct a broken system. The path that lay before her would not be an easy or straight one.
Karen spent the early part of her career in Biomedical Sciences, where she met her husband and built her beautiful family. However, Karen’s desire to fight for and protect the rights of Construction Companies and Real Estate owners continued to weigh on her, so she became an attorney.
It was only a matter of time before Karen would find herself a Construction and Real Estate attorney, fighting and protecting the Construction companies and Real Estate businesses that Build America. Karen’s passion and dedication for those who sacrifice and struggle to grow the companies that build America is the driving force behind everything she does.
